An outdoor improvement project is very beneficial for every school whether it’s a new playground, an athletic field, a garden or a greenhouse. Irving Tissue Corporation is sponsoring the Trees Rock video contest for kids in grades 3-5 to win $5,000, an e-tablet along with a trip to either the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone National Park. Additionally, his/her school will receive $10,000 to use toward a sustainable project. Kids need to submit a 1-3 minute video that expresses answers of the question why trees are so important to them, their school, and their community in their own way. What are you waiting for? Limit: One entry per person/household per eligible 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student during the sweepstakes period. Participants must be 18 years of age or older, and the parent or legal guardian of a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student, enrolled in a state accredited elementary school, at the time of entry.
Visit www.scottiestreesrock.com, follow the instructions, and download things that you need to start preparing your video submissions that includes answers of the question like “Why are trees important to you, your school and your community?” and “How you think your school could use $10,000 to beautify the outdoors if you win?” along with your child/legal ward who is a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student. After that, enter your email address, accept the official rules and submit this to get one entry into the contest.
Twelve Finalists will be selected from October 1, 2012 to November 30, 2012 on the basis of judging criteria such as 40% for most compelling story relative to theme; 35% for creativity; and 25% for clarity of expression. Finalists will be informed on or about December 10, 2012 by overnight delivery and/or telephone or email, and will need to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, a liability/publicity release, and any other releases within fourteen days of notification. If finalist fails to send it within the time, then he/she will be disqualified.
Finalists’ entries will be posted on www.scottiestreesrock.com from January 15, 2013 to February 15, 2013 for public voting. One Grand prize winner, two First prize winners, three Second prize winners, and six Third prize winners will be selected from these finalists.
Grand prize winner will receive $5,000 and a tablet computer; and school in winner’s entry will receive $10,000 and a tree planting event; as well as a 5-day/4-night trip for five to either the Grand Canyon or to Yellowstone National Park (ARV: $27,000). Trip includes air transportation; mini-van rental; hotel accommodations; $500 spending cash; and tours, park passes and/or excursions.
First prize winners will each receive one tablet computer and $2,500 cash and school in his/her entry will receive $5,000 cash (ARV: $8,500 each).
Second prize winners will each receive $1,000 cash and school in his/her entry will receive $2,500 cash (ARV: $3,500 each).
Third prize winners will each receive $500 and school in his/her entry will receive $1,000 (ARV: $1,500 each).
