Real California Pizza Contest 2022: Win Up To $10,000 Cash Prize

The California Milk Advisory Board seeks the 16 best pizza recipes featuring Real California Cheese and declares the ultimate pizza inventor a new Professional Chef of America. Put your pizza recipes on the submission list to become America's Best Professional Chef, plus, giving worth to your winning recipes, win cash, up to $10,000! Assign your base and textures to work wonders, submit the recipe photo into either of the 3 categories, along with other requirements to enter The Real California Pizza Contest 2022, and win free cash prizes and the title to upgrade your chef carrier!

Limit

The eligible entrants should be 18 years or older at the time of entry. There is a limit of 1 Entry per person per Pizza Category but the same Recipe can be submitted in each of the 3 Pizza Categories if appropriate.

How to Enter The Pizza Contest 2022

During the Contest Entry Period go to realcaliforniamilk.com/foodservice, click on the Contest icon and submit an entry into one of the three categories using Real California Cheeses (which are listed on the CMAB Website: realcaliforniamilk.com/cheese-makers).

• Category #1. Plant-Forward Pizza: A plant-forward pizza recipe that emphasizes the combination of plants and Real California cheeses, where meats or other non-cheese proteins are considered an optional garnish or condiment.
• Category #2. The Real Californian Pizza: This signature REAL California pizza recipe will include ingredients that showcase the best of the Golden State including Real California Cheeses, toppings, and crust.
• Category #3. Cal-Mex Pizza: A Cal-Mex pizza recipe will blend your interpretation of the culinary and flavor fusion of California and Mexican cuisines featuring Hispanic-style cheeses from California cheesemakers, including Asadero, Cotija, Cotija Anejo (Queso Anejo), Enchilado, Enchilado Anejo, Manchego, Menonita, Oaxaca, Panela, Queso Blanco Fresco (Queso Para Frier), Queso Fresco, and Requeson.

Note that all recipes must have no more than 7 toppings, which excludes ingredients in the crust dough, sauce, and spices.

Each Entry requires the submission of:

• A completed entry form with your name, contact information, Pizza Category selection, and your professional or culinary school affiliation;
• Your detailed recipe which names the pizza and specifies The Real California Cheeses used in the brand names as well as the varieties);
• A photo of the prepared and baked pizza, prepared in accordance with the Recipe; (The Photo should only depict the prepared and baked Pizza prepared in accordance with your Recipe); and
• An essay of no more than 300 words describing your background and explaining the inspiration behind the creation of the Recipe.

Real California Pizza Contest Winner Selection

There will be three rounds to determine the winner. A panel of judges will judge the eligible Entries based on the Pizza Categories and criteria as outlined below:

• Preliminary Round: The Name of the Recipe and its appropriateness to the applicable Pizza Category (5%); An uploaded photograph of the entrants' finished pizza (10%); Entrant Background and Inspiration for the Recipe based on the Essay (15%); The use of Real California Cheeses (35%); Flavor Expectation (35%).
• Semi-Final Round: Three sets of 25 Semi-Finalist Entries will be judged in the three Pizza Categories by three professional chefs based upon the same criteria as the Preliminary Round.
• Final Bake Off Round: The Finalists and their Entries in the Final Bake Off Round will be judged by a judging panel at the Bake Off as follows: Photo and Name of the Recipe (5%); Live Presentation to the Judges (25% which will be judged based on a combination of personal background, inspiration for the Recipe, speaking and presentation skills, and charisma); The Live Recipe Bake (70% based on 25% for flavor, 15% for texture, 15% for the inventive use of Real California Cheese and 15% for presentation – the look of the final cooked pizza).

Real California Pizza Contest Prizes

1 Grand Prize: The winner will receive $10,000.

3 Category Prizes: Each winner will receive $5,000.

12 Finalist Prizes: Each winner will receive $500.
