McDonald’s Happy Meal Chef Contest

Difficulty Level : Very Hard ( 4 out of 5 ) McDonald has started a Happy Meal Campaign, a challenge for encouraging children and parents to create a new nutritionally Happy Meal item. You could win a trip for two to the London 2012 Olympic Games from July 27, 2012 through August 3, 2012 by participating in McDonald’s Happy Meal Chef Contest. You could also win an opportunity to participate in the McDonald’s Global Food Challenge event in London, England in this contest. You need to upload a video of you and your child that shows how you make family meal time fun and nutritious and share about family meal time and nutrition by using the USDA’s My Plate guidelines. Limit: One Submission per parent or guardian and child per e-mail address for the complete Contest Entry period. Participants must be 18 years old or older, and a parent or guardian with a child 8 to 11 years of age at the time of entry.

Visit happymealchefs.mcdonalds.com, click on contest entry link, and complete the registration form by providing required information such as child’s name, parent/guardian’s name, parent/guardian’s date of birth, address, city, state, zip code, phone number, and email address. After that you will be asked to answer 3 questions with your child about family meal time and nutrition using the USDA’s My Plate guidelines, and then upload an original video of you and your child that shows how you make family meal time fun and nutritious.

Winners will be selected between March 5, 2012 and April 20, 2012 on the basis of judging criteria such as 20% for Creativity/Originality; 20% for Use of the USDA’s My Plate guidelines; 20% for Clarity of Expression; 10% for Amicable/Personality; 10% for Appropriateness to theme; 10% for Teamwork between parent/legal guardian and child; and 10% for Grammar. Winners will get a notice in writing by mail.

Ten Grand prize winners will each receive a four days/three nights’ trip for two to the London 2012 Olympic Games from July 27, 2012 through August 3, 2012, and an opportunity for the winner to be one of the two McDonald’s Happy Meal Chefs. Trip includes airfare; ground transportation; tickets for at least two London 2012 Olympic Games event; and hotel accommodations (ARV: $5,000 each).

Two Happy Meal Chef Experience Grand Prize winners will each receive an opportunity to participate in the McDonald’s Global Food Challenge event in London, England, representing the United States on or about July 25, 2012 along with Grand prize. This prize will include an additional days and one night standard double occupancy hotel accommodations for two and ground transportation (ARV: $2,500 each).
