For those people, IKEA USA’s ongoing The Life Improvement Project is best way. Essentially, this project is designed to instruct, encourage and give power to individuals to improve their lives and the lives of others in their community. The project includes a range of contests and activities to promote this local community program. So you can join this project by any of ways. Currently, Life Improvement Sabbatical Contest gives you a chance to engage with this program as well as a potential opportunity to win a year-long sabbatical of $100,000 for improving your and others lives with the help of IKEA, The Life Improvement Store. Why not try in the contest, maybe you will be the winner.

Limit: One entry is permitted per email address throughout the duration of the contest. Contestant must be 18 years old or older as of date of entry.

Throughout the contest period, access www.thelifeimprovementproject.com and follow the ‘Enter Now’ tab. Then submit an essay in 2,000 characters with title on what would you do to improve the lives of others over the next year if you won $100,000. As well include your brief budget of $100,000 that you would use for improving the lives of others. Lastly, submit your contact information and complete your contest submission for receiving an entry in the contest. Your submitted information must comply with the contest rules.

From all received eligible entries, total fifty entries will be judged as per judging criteria to deem ten semi-finalist entries. Then all semi-finalists will be required to join a 20-minute interview through phone. All interviews will be also judged based on judging criteria and five semi-finalists will be determined with the highest interview scores to complete and submit a one minute video representation of why they think that they are the perfect contestant to win the Life Improvement Sabbatical Contest before deadline. Each five finalist’s entries/videos will be posted at the contest website on November 28, 2011 for public voting. Website visitors can cast their vote to their most liked entries/videos of finalist to determine the Grand Prize winner.

A finalist with highest scored votes will be announced as Grand Prize winner of contest and awarded with grand prize of $100,000 for his/her submitted project to improve the lives of others with the help of IKEA, The Life Improvement Store as well as a 3-day/2-night trip to a spa resort in Phoenix, AZ, during Spring 2012 plus one hour life coaching session with Dr. Martha Beck.

Remaining four finalists will receive a $1,000 IKEA® gift card.
