$850K Bonded Abrasive Wheel Settlement (DEWALT, Porter Cable & Black & Decker)

abrassive wheel

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Stanley Black & Decker by plaintiffs who accused the company of failing to share proper details of the expiry date on organic bonded abrasive wheels. The plaintiffs have argued that they would have paid less for the products had they known about their expiration date. According to Training and Assessment Consultants Ltd., the organic bonded abrasive wheels are cutting tools manufactured of abrasive grains and held together using organic materials like resin, rubber, or shellac. Though Black & decker has not admitted to the accusations brought about by the class members, they have agreed to the settlement terms for resolving the claims of plaintiffs. The defendant will modify the packaging, packaging inserts, or manuals for these products as part of the settlement.

The last date for either objecting to or excluding oneself from the terms of the settlement is 15th April 2022. For excluding yourself from the Settlement, you need to submit a written statement requesting exclusion to the Settlement Administrator at Dinges v. Black & Decker, P.O. Box 26170, Santa Ana, CA 92799. You will have to mention your name, address, and telephone number in the request for being postmarked by the Settlement Administrator before the deadline.
